They Tried to Erase Her

That Means We Tell Her Story Louder.

Dear Wild Woman,
If no one has said it today—take up space, darling. Let me remind you who the hell you are. You’ve always known there was more—not louder, not harder, just more you. To the one holding it all together (and maybe falling apart a little too) in the name of love, truth, and healing—I see you.
They didn’t take down her story because it wasn’t true.
They took it down because it made them uncomfortable.
Lt. Col. Nicole “FiFi” Malachowski—the first female Thunderbird pilot in U.S. Air Force history—was celebrated for her leadership, her legacy, her sheer badassery. Until someone decided that because her story was labeled DEI, it no longer deserved to be told.
Let that sink in.
Her accomplishments were not discredited. They were erased.
Not because she didn’t earn them—but because she was a woman, and the recognition of her groundbreaking role was wrapped in a word they now want to disappear: DEI.
Had it been a man’s achievement? It never would’ve been touched.
This is not just about one woman. This is not just about one article.
This is about a systemic, strategic erasure of stories that don’t fit the mold.
Stories of women.
Stories of Black and Brown excellence.
Stories of LGBTQ+ resilience.
Stories of firsts, of breakthroughs, of long-overdue seats at long-protected tables.
This is what happens when the truth becomes too powerful: They try to delete it.
But Femme Bold wasn’t built for silence. We exist because of silence.
We exist for the women whose voices were labeled “too emotional,” “too aggressive,” “too divisive.” We exist to publish what they try to bury.
So here’s what we want to say to the powers scrubbing history behind closed doors:
You cannot delete us.
We are the record. We are the voice. We are the fire.
And every time you try to make us disappear, we come back louder, prouder, and more unstoppable than before.
To Lt. Col. Malachowski: Thank you for flying higher.
We see you. We celebrate you. And we won’t let them forget.
To every woman reading this—Your story is worthy. It does not need permission to be told. And if they ever try to erase you too?
We’ll be right here. Publishing it. Screaming it. Etching it into history where it belongs.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to rise.
Until next time—rebel gently, love deeply, and don’t forget to breathe.
Written in fire, sealed in lipstick, signed by every woman who refuses to be erased.
—Femme Bold.
